Joy E. Schirra, 49, Scranton, died unexpectedly on Wednesday at home.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Walter and Colleen Huegel Schirra of Nanticoke. She was a vibrant and spunky woman who always had an ear to listen to people’s stories. She was her family's rock and she could make friends with anyone, anywhere. She loved her garden, her ducks and most of all her books. She adored her family and her friends.
She was employed at Great Clips in Dickson City, always willing to hear a joke from her customers to pass on to her family. She was a dedicated and hard worker. She’ll be missed by everyone that knew her and loved her.
Also surviving is the love of her life Terry Cruser of Scranton, three daughters, Mackenzi, Zoe, and Georgia Pinkney, four sons, William, Wyatt, Warren, and Zackery Pinkney, two grandchildren Jedidiah and Karina Pinkney, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her brother Walter Schirra Jr. and multiple aunts and uncles. There will be a celebration of life for her to be announced later.
