Joyce A. (Hughes) Mulderig, 77, of West Scranton, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George Hughes and Mae Kavulich Hughes. She was a 1965 graduate of West Scranton High School. She worked for WDAU TV and for numerous years for the Diocese of Scranton at St. Patrick’s rectory and later in the school until to her retirement. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. She devoted her life to her children and cherished her grandchildren. She was a selfless, independent woman, who enjoyed QVC, football, and the latest news. She faced obstacles with strength and resilience.
She is survived by her children Jim (Kami) Scranton, Jeff (Faith) Clarks Summit, Jill (Paul) with whom she resided, and her favorite brother Gary (Danielle). Grandchildren Nicholas, Colette, Gavin, Reiley, and Ella. Nephews Gary and Todd Hughes.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
Per her request, there will be no calling hours.
A private memorial mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church with private entombment at Cathedral Cemetery.
