Julia C. (Maskal) Annibale

Julia C. Annibale, 89, of Charleston, SC and formerly of Mt. Cobb, died Friday at Brookdale West Askley in Charleston.  She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Albert Rocco Annibale, who died in 2015.

Born in Dickson City, daughter of the late Edward and Florence Plonski Maskal, she had attended Scranton public schools. A true matriarch, she loved cooking, gardening, and baking, but above all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed.

Surviving are her sons, David J. Annibale, M.D. and wife Holly of Charleston, SC, and Gerard T. Annibale and wife Janice of Dunmore; grandchildren Christopher and wife Daniela, Joseph and wife Bridget Kinsey, Stephen and wife Jillian, and Michelle Annibale; and Janice Marie Mecca and husband Christopher of Dunmore; great-grandchildren Zackary Annibale, Zoey Annibale, Isaac Annibale-Kinsey, Emma Annibale, Owen Mecca, Logan Mecca, and Julianna Mecca, who was named for her; a sister Lucille LaMura of Mt. Cobb; and brother Leonard Maskal and wife Wanda of Scranton; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Richard LaMura. 

The funeral will be Tuesday with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Eulalia’s Church, 214 Blue Shutters Rd., Moscow.  All those attending are asked to go directly to the church.

Interment to follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
