Kathleen Patricia Egan

Kathleen Patricia Egan, of Dunmore, passed away on Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at Allied Hospice Center following a lengthy illness. 

Born on September 10, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Manley Egan.  Kathy was a 1964 graduate of St. Paul’s High School and worked as a secretary for the majority of her career.  She spent 17 years as the secretary for St. Joseph’s Center, Scranton, and was a member of their Auxiliary.  She took great pride in her involvement with the annual festival benefitting the center.

Kathy enjoyed reading, dancing to the oldies and a good cup of tea.  She loved cooking Sunday night dinner for her family and being a fun and loving Nana to her two grandchildren.  Kathy will be remembered for many things, especially her feisty spirit, great sense of humor and making the best apple pie. 

Kathy is survived by her daughter Tara Sottile and son-in-law, Kevin as well as her grandchildren, Hannah and Finn of Waverly; sister Dorothy Egan-Keating and husband Greg, S. Abington Twp; brother Michael Egan and wife Maureen, Clarks Summit; brother Robert Egan and wife Cathy, Dunmore; nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Mary Rose Gould and Linda Eynon.

A blessing service will be held on Thursday at 5pm at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.

Interment is private at the convenience of the family.  

Friends may call from 3pm until the time of the service. Those attending are kindly and respectfully asked to wear a mask.
