Kevin Daniel "Mangs" Manger Obituary

Kevin Daniel “Mangs” Manger,57, of South Abington, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 10, 2024, surrounded by family, football, music, and love. Kevin was born on September 6, 1967, in Scranton, PA, to John Burton and Donna Mary (Salico) Manger. He was a 1986 graduate of Dunmore High School. Kevin enjoyed a long career in the trucking industry, coordinating drivers and freight using his renowned negotiation skills.

Kevin had a big and beautiful rock and roll heart.  He truly lived life to the fullest through his sense of adventure.  Family, travel, hiking, sports, and kayaking were among Kevin’s passions, but his most profound passion was attending music concerts.  From his younger days seeing the Grateful Dead and The Rolling Stones, to Pearl Jam and The Allman Brothers of the 2000s, and more recently excitedly enjoying Cabinet, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Billy Strings, Kevin derived his greatest pleasure from the live music shared experience.  He was also a devoted and outspoken fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Yankees, and Penn State Nittany Lions.

Kevin is survived by his sister, Lori May and husband Michael, Madison Township, brothers Christopher Manger, Dunmore, and Anthony Manger and wife Ellen, Dunmore, Uncle Thomas Manger and wife Jennifer (Fort Myers Beach, FL), and Uncle Vincent Salico and Aunt Geri, Taylor.  He is also survived by cousins Valerie Salico, John Manger, and Jake Manger, nieces Veronica Montaro, Kaycee Snuggs, Marisa May, Danielle May, and Margaret Manger, nephews Christopher Manger Jr., and Joseph Manger, and former wife Heather Davis, Scranton.  Additionally, Kevin is notably survived by countless friends who think of him as family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Donna, grandparents Agnes and Anthony Salico and Kathryn and Burt Manger, aunt Marilyn Manger Gregorowicz, and his beloved nephew Tyler Montaro.  Kevin was also preceded in death by his faithful dog Samson, whom he cherished as the dog of his lifetime.

Family, friends, tapers, spinners, Derek Jeter, poker enthusiasts, Count Zappula, and others whose lives Kevin touched are invited to pay their respects on Saturday from 12-2:00pm at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St. in Dunmore.
