Lena J. (Marciano) Sabie

Lena J. Sabie, 96, of Dunmore, passed away Friday morning at Allied Services Hospice Unit in Scranton. She was the widow of the late Salvatore J. Sabie, who died Nov. 17, 2007.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Enrico Marciano and Josephine Giordano. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Scranton. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Kaplan Furniture and Haddon Craftsman.
Lena enjoyed reading, shopping and visiting the casinos. She adored her grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her son, Joseph Sabie and wife, Michele, Madison Twp.; a daughter, Kathryn Chicano and husband, Joseph, Philadelphia; grandchildren, Dr. Rosa Sabie, Madisonville; Stephanie Chicano and husband, Dave Morina, Belgium; Danielle Hamilton and husband, Matthew, San Diego; a great-grandson, Cameron Hamilton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Louise Polizzi; brothers, Anthony and Guy Marciano; sisters-in-law, Angelica and Louise Marciano; brother-in-law, Michael Polizzi.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Avenue, Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Family and friends may pay their respects Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be sent to Allied Services Hospice, 511 Morgan Highway, Scranton, PA 18508.
