Leonard Donato Nole, 67, of Greenfield Twp., passed away Thursday afternoon at home.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of Shirley (Roth) Nole and the late Salvatore A. Nole. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School class of 1974 and attended Keystone College. Prior to retirement, he worked at Tobyhanna Army Depot as an electrician and tech writer for 33 years.
An ever-present advocate for his community, Lenny invested much of his time to ensure those around him would have a brighter future. As an active board member of the Mosaic Project, he was always willing to help out in any way he could. This included helping to plan as well as play guitar and even sing in many of the Dunmore Shindig events. He loved playing guitar and going for long rides on his custom motorcycle that he built with his father. He was very interested and involved in the martial arts, earn his black belt in Goshin Jutsu Karate. He also enjoyed cooking for his friends and family whenever he could, as well as boating, hiking and being outdoors.
Surviving are daughters, Kirsten Weary and husband, Kristoffer, Throop; and Ashley Nole, Lancaster; grandchildren, Maximus and Theoden Weary; a brother, Salvatore A. Nole Jr., Clarks Summit; a niece, Deanna Ammermann and husband, Sam; and nephews, Eric and Michael Nole; as well as many cousins. He is also survived by his Auntie May, (Mary Ann Benfante), whom he had a close relationship with.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
Family and friends may visit Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Mosaic Project, 1429 Electric St., Dunmore, PA 18509.
