Lidia Volynsky, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away on Mother's Day, May 12, 2024, in her home in El Sobrante, California, at the age of 92.
Lidia was born on May 1, 1932, in Kiev, Ukraine, and as a Holocaust survivor, her journey through life was marked by resilience and unwavering strength. She is survived by her daughter Julia (Victor) Goretsky, who remained her pillar of support throughout her life; her grandchildren, Alex (Girolamo Aliotti) Goretsky and Yasya (Stephen Keller) Goretsky, whom she adored; her great-grandchildren, Gelsa, Mae, and Ellis, who brought boundless happiness into her later years; her sister Galina Volynsky and niece Anya (Gregory Krug) Volynsky, with whom she shared a special bond, and grand-nephews Bo and Sammy, of whom she was very proud.
Lidia was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
