Louis C. Dettenmayer, 91 of Fayetteville, NC passed away Monday, January 1, 2024, surrounded by his family at the North Carolina Veterans Home.
Louis was born July 25, 1932, in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late Carl and Sadie Dettenmayer. He was preceded in death by loving wife of 47 years, Florence.
Louis is survived by his son, Carl, daughter-in-law Elizabeth; grandchildren Hayley, Matthew, Thomas and Tony Bloomfield.
Louis worked for the Petersburg Silk Mills until it's closing in 1988 and Patrick Advertising until his retirement.
He was a Korean War era Veteran in the U.S. Naval Reserves as well as the U.S. Air Force. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason for over 50 years and Past Master of King Solomon Lodge 584 in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. He was an avid golfer in his younger years and a proud member of the Boneyard Gang at the Scranton YMCA.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, 318 East Drinker Street. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation services will be held from 5-7pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the funeral home.
