Mamie Ruth Lundy, 94, of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Mary’s Villa Nursing Home, Elmhurst Twp, Pennsylvania, she was the widow of the late Charles Lundy.
Born in Albany, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Jules Wimbley and Mary Clark. Prior to retirement she worked as an operator at Bell Atlantic.
God called his Soulja mommy home. She is loved, missed and remembered as a friend, auntie, mother, mommy-in-law, sista, grandmother, great-gma, father and God’s Diva to all who knew her. My family’s original housewife, 94 years of constant consistent caregiving to all who knew her. Mamie Ruth Lundy Rest in eternal peace.
Surviving are daughters, Angela Adams, Scranton, Zita Statsman and husband Mark, Dunmore. Sons, Charles Lundy, Atlanta, GA, Gregory Lundy and Alvin Lundy, of Scranton, Soloman Lundy, Queens, NY, David Lundy, Brooklyn, NY, Kareem Lundy and companion Mone Thomas, Tobyhanna and Eric Tyrone Brown Lundy, Stroudsburg. Several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by sons, Barron, Gerald and Milton Lundy. Grandson, Jamel Coates and great-grandson, Saquan “Noodles” Williams. A sister, Sylvia “Tat” Brown and brothers, Roy Brown, Jr. and Henry Brown.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11am at the Dunmore Cemetery, 400 Church St., Dunmore, Pennsylvania.
