Marcia Pica, age 81, of Dunmore, passed away peacefully at home on Friday. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 51 years, John Pica Jr. on May 9, 2015.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Verna Keslik Kobierecki, she was a 1961 graduate of Dickson City High School. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She kept an impeccable home and was an excellent cook. She loved to shop, dine out and spend time with her family and friends. She was very generous and was always there to lend a helping hand for those in need. She was incredibly proud of her grandsons who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Keating and husband Shawn, her grandsons John and wife Emily and Cory, sisters in law Sylvia Rinaldi, Deborah Drosinski and husband Rick and Dawn Pica and nieces and nephews and great nephews and nieces. She was employed by Burger King in Dunmore for more than 40 years where she established many lifelong friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved and dearly missed son John, sister-in-law Lisa Tobin, brother-in-law John Rinaldi and nephew Mark Rinaldi. She was a member of SS Anthony and Rocco church and was a member of the MAC club.
Her family wishes to extend sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Barry Minora and his wonderful staff, all of her caregivers for the kind and compassionate care given during her illness and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for providing comfort and support during her final days.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St. in Dunmore.
Interment, St. Michael’s Cemetery in Dunmore.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 5-7pm.
