Margaret A. (O'Boyle) Kelly

Margaret “Peggy” Kelly, 98 of Dunmore, died Sunday morning June 28, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene Kelly in 2016.

Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of Dr. Leo O’Boyle and Mary Christmas Roach O’Boyle.  She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and the Scranton Lackawanna Business College.  She was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore.

Peggy worked in the main office at Bishop O’Hara High School until her retirement.  Her personality, warm spirit, kindness and sense of humor will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Our family offers special thanks to all who visited her and cared for her this last year at Elan.

She loved being with family and friends and was loved by all who knew her.

Surviving, are daughters Sharon Kelly, Dunmore, and Patti Kelly, Pittsburgh; and sons, Brother Frank Kelly, F.M.S., Poughkeepsie, NY; Sean and wife Carol, Duncansville; Joseph and wife Denise, St. Augustine, Fla.; Grandchildren, Meghan Burkey and husband Seth; Lauren Acosta and husband Rafael; Patrick, Michael, Erin, Kathryn, and Ryan Kelly; Great Grandchildren, Emmy, Sofia, Olivia and Mariana; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Colleen; sister Mary Hunt and brother Leo O’Boyle. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 9:30am at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St. Dunmore. Internment, will be held in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery Dunmore.  Friends may call Thursday from 5-7pm at Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore.
