Margaret Love, 87, Scranton, died Tuesday evening in Allied Services Hospice Center in Scranton. Her husband of 65 years, Donald A. Love, preceded her in death on November 16, 2022.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Barclay Walters, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School Class of 1955 and prior to retirement, had been employed as an office manager with Auto Xpress.
Margaret was dedicated to her family and a true matriarch who loved raising her children, but even more so, loved being able to help raise her grandchildren whom she adored. She participated in their lives wherever she could, whether it be volunteering with Girl Scouts, or just baking the very best Welsh cookies. She absolutely loved the beach and the time spent in Sanibel, Florida where she collected endless amounts of seashells that she would incorporate into her crafts. She will be deeply missed.
Surviving are daughters Linda Gray and partner Mike Priller, and Alison Shea; a son David Love; grandchildren Jennifer Shea, Ryan Gray, Sierra Love, and Brandi Love; a great-granddaughter; as well as nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her nine siblings.
A funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with entombment to follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Township.
Family and friends may pay their respects Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that contributions in Margaret’s memory be made to Allied Services Hospice, 100 Abington Executive Park, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
