Margaret Ann "Peg" Ettinger Obituary

Margaret Ann "Peg" Ettinger, 80, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Monday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was the wife of the late Richard F. Ettinger, who died March 25, 2019.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Montaro Roth and had been a member of St. John Neumann Parish in South Scranton. Peg attended Scranton Technical High School and went on to become a licensed teacher and cosmetologist for 40 years. She was owner of Fashion Tone and then Peg's Beauty Shop in Dunmore and Scranton where she was known for creative hairstyles. Peg was a loving mother, grandma, great-grandmother, sister, cousin and friend. Her happiest moments were holidays with family and friends especially their crazy Christmas Eves with fabulous food, Santa and gifts, as well as her yearly trip to Deerfield Beach, Fla., to enjoy the sun and more friends.

Surviving are two sons, Richard V. Ettinger and his wife, Linda, Cresco; and Randall Ettinger and his wife, Lori, Dickson City; a sister, Beverly Stepniak and her husband, William, Hop Bottom; six grandchildren, Britni Ettinger, Scranton; Bryana Ettinger-Burke and her husband, Chris, Peckville; Richard Ettinger and his fiancé, Gabrielle Puteri, Scott Twp.; Ashley Ettinger and her fiancé, Jeremy Geadrities, Dunmore; Amanda Kubilus and her husband, Vince, Archbald; and Randy Ettinger, Archbald; two great-grandchildren, Raegan Burke and Isabella Kubilus; a niece, Loni Saylor and her husband, Jeremy, Springville; a great-niece, Violet Saylor; and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Nativity of Our Lord Church, Orchard Street, Scranton. Interment will take place privately in Fairview Memorial Park at a later date. All those attending the Mass are kindly and respectfully asked to social distance and are required to wear a mask.
