Marie Luciano Finan, 84, of Dunmore, passed away Tuesday evening at Allied Skilled Nursing Palliative Care and Rehabilitation Center in Scranton.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Eugenio and Philomena DiPietro Luciano and was a graduate of Dunmore High School's class of 1958. Prior to retirement she worked at McDonald's Restaurant for over 30 years.
Marie was a strong, independent single mother who raised her boys with love and guidance which helped shape them and prepared them to achieve their own accomplishments and goals in life. She was a proud Dunmorean and a loving grandmother. Family meant everything to her. She was an avid New York Yankees fan and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are sons, Donnie Finan and wife, Debbie, Malvern, Pa.; and Mark Finan and wife, Aimee, Dunmore. Grandchildren, Dominic, Dean, Mark Jr., Carlie and Olivia Finan. Brothers, Gene Luciano and wife, Barbara, Avon, Ohio; and Joe Luciano and wife, Lucy, Dunmore. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment is private at the Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday morning from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
