Marlene Hess

Marlene Hess, 77, of Scranton, died Tuesday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit.  She is survived by her husband David Hess.  The couple would have celebrated 40 years of marriage on September 30th.

Born in Honesdale, daughter of the late Isadore and Deborah Schecter Skier, Marlene was a graduate of New Mexico University where she successfully completed the Dental Assistant Program. As a young woman she attended the Traphagen Institute of Fashion and Design in New York City.

Also surviving is a daughter Dena Legnaioli and husband Christopher, Mechanicsville, VA; son, Jeffrey Adams and companion Tanya Boudreau, Colorado Springs, CO; sister, Phylis Williams, FL; brother, David Skier, FL; grandson Wade Legnaioli; and her Norwich Terrier, Darla.

Both the funeral and burial will be held privately under the care of Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., Dunmore.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.
