Marvin A. Tucker Jr., 80, of Dunmore, passed away Tuesday afternoon at St. Mary’s Villa surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Old Forge, he was the son of the late Marvin A., Sr. and Helen Timm Tucker and was a member of the Dunmore United Methodist Church. He attended the Dunmore public schools and before retirement, he was a truck driver for JR Butler.
Marvin was an avid gun collector and promoted gun safety especially with children. He proudly held a lifetime membership with the NRA as a benefactor where he met Charlton Heston. He was also a member of the Single Action Shooters Society. He was a specialty deputy sheriff for Lackawanna County and an armed security guard for Pocono Raceway Events. Marvin never married but lived a life rich with family and friends. He loved riding his motorcycle, camping and traveling across the country. He was the number one fan of John Wayne and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are a sister, Marjorie Slaboda, Taylor; lifelong friend, Arthur Taylor; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Edna Bennie and husband, Franklin and Ruth Cooney and husband, Harold; a brother, Ronald Tucker; a brother-in-law, Stephen Slaboda Jr.; and a very dear friend, Tommy Williams.
A service will be held Monday at 12:30 p.m. at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. Inurnment, Dunmore Cemetery. Friends may call Monday morning at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
