Mary Ann Sedorovitz, 54, Dickson City and formerly of West Scranton, passed away Sunday, September 12th at Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton after a life-long illness.
Born in Scranton, daughter of Prima Balzani Sedorovitz of Dickson City and the late Stanley Sedorovitz, she was a graduate of West Scranton High School, Class of 1988. Mary loved life and had the biggest heart for everyone she knew. She was kind and giving to all her family and friends. She loved to shop--especially at the Viewmont Mall where she made so many friends--and spent most days shopping with her dearest friend of all, Carol. She enjoyed bringing presents for her wonderful neighbors whom she loved dearly.
She loved the band, The Poets, of Scranton, and followed them for years. She had a special friendship with Frankie Gervasi and wife Cindy at that time. She loved going to the casinos and Ocean City, MD, every summer and absolutely adored Jon Bon Jovi. She was truly a special soul in this world.
Her family would especially like to thank the Hunter Family, who were like her own family to her, and treated her with such love and kindness all of her life. Also thanks to Rachel, Donna, and Jenn of Interim Health Care for their kindness, care, and willingness to talk with her everyday on the phone. Special thanks to all of the nurses and staff of Geisinger-CMC progressive care and intensive care units, especially nurse Jeffrey Fernandez, R.N.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Bill Leggat of Dickson City, who were her life-long caregivers. She loved Bill with all of her heart, and depended on him for 40 years for her health needs.
