Mary Ann Yausm, 78, Dunmore, died Tuesday after a brief illness with pulmonary fibrosis complications. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Yausm.
Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Donato J. “Dooch” and Grace C. Mecca, she was a graduate of St. Paul’s High School, and prior to retirement, she had been employed in the office of Suburban Propane. Mary Ann was a selfless woman, who always put the needs of others before herself, dedicating herself to family and as a volunteer with both Meals on Wheels and St. Joseph’s Center. She also loved to travel with her husband Bob, spend time with her grandchildren, and host family dinners at the holidays. She was a member of St. John Paul II Parish in Dunmore.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Jeffrey Yausm and wife Michelle of Summerville, SC; and Craig Yausm and wife Melissa of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Brady and Maddie Yausm; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore. Interment to follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Meals on Wheels or to St. Joseph’s Center.
