Mary Anne Giello, 67, of Dunmore and formerly of Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon at Geisinger-CMC in Scranton.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Naomi Minicozzi Giello. She was a graduate of the former Bishop O’Hara High School’s Class of 1976. She also graduated from Marywood College and received her master’s in social work from Bryn Mawr College in 1988. She was a self-employed licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist and an adjunct professor at Rutgers University.
Mary Anne was a very caring person with a heart of gold. Her family meant everything to her. She enjoyed taking road trips and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. She was very passionate about her job and was an organ donor. She will sadly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving is her son, Nathan, Dunmore. A daughter, Lindsay Heath, New Hampshire. Granddaughter, Luna Thomas-Giello. Brother, Jonathan Giello, Dunmore. Nephew, Jonathan Giello. Her very dear friend, Michelle Luchetti, several cousins and her fur-baby, Phoenix.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9;30am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St. Dunmore.
Interment, Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst at the convenience of the family.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
