Mary Ellen Marciano, 63, Dunmore, died Wednesday, Nov. 19th at the Oak Ridge Rehab and Healthcare Center in Taylor.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Anthony Sr. and Angelica Pichiarello Marciano, she was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1979 and Penn State University and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a customer service representative in retail sales, most recently at Chewy, a job she truly loved. She cherished the friendships of coworkers, and in return, they also appreciated her support and friendship.
Mary Ellen was a loyal supporter of any football program that her brothers and nephews were associated with, and also avidly supported the Dunmore Bucks, Penn State, and the New York Yankees. She was proud to know about her Italian ancestry and the history of Dunmore. She knew every friend and family member’s birthday and anniversary, and made sure to call them on their special day.
She is survived by her brothers Frank Marciano and wife Noreen of Peckville, Joseph Marciano of Missouri City, TX, and Anthony Marciano, Jr. and wife Kelly of San Antonio, TX; her sister Joanne Hickey and husband Dave of Dunmore; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Oak Ridge Rehab and Skilled Nursing, especially the third floor staff and therapists, and Serenity Care Hospice for their loving care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Willow St., Peckville. All those attending are asked to go directly to the church for the time of mass.
Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
