Mary Lou Phillips, 73, of Scranton, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon at home.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Barone and Rose M. DiBiasi Barone. She was a graduate of Scranton High, and prior to her retirement she worked at the Scranton Counseling Center and Association for the Blind.
Mary Lou was known for her warm spirit, love of music, favorites peter cetera, Chicago, Rod Stewart, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and loved sharing photos of her grandchildren. She touched our lives with her kindness and unwavering love for those around her.
Surviving are her sons, Mark Friedman and spouse Lisa Friedman, Neil Friedman and spouse Julie Friedman; her sister, Rosanne Carty and spouse Harry Carty; and her beloved grandchildren Philip, Alexandra, Benjamin, and Samantha.
She was also preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Barone, and her mother, Rose Barone.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St. in Dunmore.
Private interment, Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
There will be no public calling hours.
