Mary Mursch Hendricks, 82, of Scranton, passed away on Friday morning at Dunmore Health Care Center after a battle with pneumonia. The wife of Paul Hendricks, Sr., they just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on July 3, 2023.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Mary Krottenthaler and Alfred Mursch, Sr. She was a 1958 graduate of Scranton Technical High School and was the drummer for the school’s marching band.
Mary enjoyed watching game shows, playing Scrabble, and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She also loved going shopping at Boscov’s and going to eat with her husband. She also treasured holidays with her family. She would do anything for a good laugh and joke with anyone.

She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church in South Scranton. After the parish closed, she became a member of St. Paul’s Church in the Green Ridge section of Scranton. She was a very religious person.

The family would like to thank Dr. Marla Dempsey, Dr. Gregory Cali, Dr. Kevin Olsen, and all the wonderful nurses at Regional Hospital. We also wanted to thank Jean and Peggy at Dunmore Health Care Center who took care of her like their own mother.
