Marynella A. Colurso, 89, Scranton, died Monday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Gene Colurso, who died in 2012. They had celebrated 58 years of marriage.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late John and Mary Carrera Saccon, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Together with her husband, they founded and co-owned the former Colurso’s Fruit Market and Deli on Luzerne Street in West Scranton. She loved cooking and swimming, and enjoyed hosting lunches and swim parties with her friends. She also liked going for walks, shopping and traveling. Above all, she adored her family, especially her grandson, Jim.
Surviving are her daughters, Pam Hart of Waverly Twp., and Mary Colurso of Birmingham, Ala.; and grandson, Jim Hart of Scranton. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Saccon.
The funeral will be Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, Oram Street, Scranton. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Entombment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
