Maurice V. “Moe” Bochicchio, 73, Dunmore, died early Sunday in the Dunmore Health Care Center.
Born in Scranton to the late Maurice V. and Antoinette DeMaio Bochicchio, he was a graduate of Dunmore Central Catholic High School and went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree from Bloomsburg University and a master’s degree from Marywood University. Prior to his retirement, he had spent his entire teaching career in the Dunmore Elementary Center, and became lifelong friends with many of his fellow educators. In recent years, he enjoyed traveling, and walking on local trails and in the neighborhood. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter in Scranton.
Surviving are his brothers, William Bochicchio and wife Lisa of Moosic, Victor and wife Andrea Starr of Clinton, NJ, and John and wife Theresa of Montville, NJ; nieces and nephews, Andrew Starr-Bochicchio, Jordan Starr-Bochicchio and partner Elizabeth Christ, William (B.J.) Bochicchio and wife Gabrielle Santarelli-Bochicchio, Allie Troyanos and husband Kevin, and Christine Bochicchio; and a great-niece and great-nephew, Elsie Lillian Bochicchio and Chase Troyanos.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9 a.m. in the Cathedral of St. Peter, 315 Wyoming Ave., Scranton. Interment to follow in the Cathedral Cemetery, West Scranton.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
