Michael G. Mellner, 76, of Scranton died Tuesday at Fox Subacute at Warrington. He is survived by his wife the former, Rhoda Oram, who celebrated their 48th anniversary in January.
Born in Allentown, son of the late Samuel and Dorothy Beyhl Mellner, he graduated from the University of Scranton in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and was a self-employed CPA. Michael was a former member of B’Nai B’rith and JWV and a current member of Ohev Zedek Synagogue as well as several other professional organizations.
He is survived by his daughter, Marni Polatoff and husband, Elliott; a son, Steven and wife, Risa; a sister Susan Schriner and husband, Joe; brothers, David Mellner, Jacob Mellner and wife, Cheryl; grandchildren, Aharon Polatoff, and wife, Batya, Avi, Tzivi, Leah, Tzipporah and Mordy Polatoff, Eitan, Adam, Leeba, and Chana Mellner, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service was held in Dalton Jewish Cemetery.
Shiva will be observed at the family residence Sunday, August 2 from 1PM-8PM and Monday, August 3 from 1PM-8PM.
