Michael D. Stalter, 56, of Dunmore, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, April 1.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late David G. Sr. and Joan Stalter and was a graduate of Mountain View High School and Penn State University. He was the proud owner of Stalter’s Café in Scranton since 2009.
Mike was “one of a kind.” He was well known by many and a significant part of the Scranton community. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends. He especially enjoyed his time spent with his nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mike loved supporting all his friends both emotionally and with endless generosity and kindness. You would most often find Mike at Stalter’s Café, Sam’s Club, lunching at Fratelli’s or his favorite watering hole. Mike was a proud sponsor of many local sports teams and charities in the Scranton area. To know Michael is to love Michael. Mike was always the life of the party.
Surviving are brothers, David Jr., Taylor; Richard and wife, Renee, Greenfield Twp.; Stephen and wife, Maria, Clarks Summit; a sister, Julie Harvatine and husband, Will, Kingsley; nieces and nephews, Abbey and Jake Stalter, Greenfield Twp.; Holly, Luke, Kali and Maci Harvatine, Kingsley; a godson, Hudson Stalter, Clarks Summit; along with so many more including aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
A service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Arbogaste Satoun at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.
Family and friends may visit Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
