Michael P. Morahan, 69, Dunmore, died Monday afternoon in Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton. He and his wife the former Palma DiBiasi had celebrated 47 years of marriage on December 11th.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Michael D. and Anna Moyles Morahan. Mike was a graduate of the former Bishop O’Hara High School and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Dunmore. He loved nothing more than to spend time with his grandchildren and attend their various events which included sports, karate, and dance recitals. He was always looking forward to family gatherings and parties.
Also surviving are two daughters, Stephanie Sanchuk, Jessup, and Victoria Kelly and her husband Ryan, Jefferson Township, a sister, Mary Ann Noone, Corona, CA, four grandchildren, Eliza and Lincoln Sanchuk, Jessup and Quinn and Adley Kelly, Jefferson Township, a sister-in-law Antoinette Morahan, Scranton, two brothers in law, Rocco Cipriano and Thomas Deininger both of Dunmore, a former son in law Robert Sanchuk, Archbald and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Cipriano and Cathy Deininger and a brother Jack Morahan.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St. in Dunmore with a Mass at 9:30AM in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut St. in Dunmore. Burial to follow in the Dunmore Cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
