Mildred Rothenberg passed away at 96 years old on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 while a resident of Greenridge Nursing Care Center.
The former Mildred Klinger, “Millie” was born and grew up in the Bronx, New York as one of 6 children to Nathan and Jenny Klinger. After graduating high school, Millie became a bookkeeper in various companies where she continued to work until 1955 when she met the love of her life, Dave Rothenberg. They married and spent 31 wonderful years together, attending Yankee games and Broadway shows, the two things they enjoyed the most.
Since Dave’s passing in 1986, Millie spent her time taking great pride and interest in her grandchildren, Debbie and David, and more recently her great-grandchild, Jack. Up until her passing she continued to be an ardent fan of the New York Yankees watching every game on television and loved to watch old movies, her favorite being Gone with the Wind.
Millie was proceeded in death by her husband, Dave Rothenberg, and her granddaughter, Janet Rothenberg.
She is survived by her son Howard and wife Deede of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania; her daughter Wendy LaForge and husband George of Edison, New Jersey; grandson Dave Rothenberg and Jesse Fox of Waverly, Pennsylvania; granddaughter Debbie Rothenberg and Ryan O’Conner of Gainesville, Florida; great grandson Jack O’Conner of Gainesville, Florida; and her sister Fran Meyer of Middletown, New York.
There will be a graveside service on Monday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
The family will observe shiva on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the home of Howard and Deede Rothenberg, 102 Sturbridge Road, Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania from 6-8 p.m.
