Miriam Ellen Giordano, 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 9th. Born on October 22, 1942, in Kingston, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late George and Agnes Shea Kaschenbach and the beloved wife of the late Emilio Giordano.
A graduate of Marywood College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree, Miriam dedicated her career to teaching music in the Dunmore School District. She shared her love of music with generations of students, inspiring creativity, confidence, and joy in the classroom.
Deeply involved in her community, Miriam was a member of the Saints Anthony & Rocco Parish Playground Association and served as both a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader. Her commitment to guiding young people reflected her generous spirit and her belief in nurturing the next generation.
Miriam was preceded in death by her nephew, Bradley Giordano.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Christman, and her husband, Greg, of Wilkes‑Barre, along with their children, Zoe and Matthew Sechler; her son, Joseph Giordano; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry her memory with love.
Arrangements entrusted to Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
