Nelida "Nelly" (Acevedo) Muniz

Nelida "Nelly" Muniz, 64, of Scranton, passed away on Saturday, January 25th at home.

Born on June 3, 1955 in Aguada, Puerto Rico, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by her husband, Luis; her children, Alejandro (Alex) Muniz, Luis Muniz and Janeury, all of Staten Island, and Amanda E. Muniz and Richie of Carteret, NJ; her two grandchildren, Emma and Julian; siblings, Maritza Acevedo, Carmen Diaz, both of Scranton, Noelia Ruiz and Elba Acevedo, both of Staten Island, Pablo and Noel Acevedo, both of Puerto Rico, Ivan Acevedo of Staten Island, and Wilfredo and Luis Acevedo of Florida; her furbabies, Prince and Lilly; nieces and nephews.

Nelly loved cooking, making people laugh, playing lotto, taking care of her furbabies, and being surrounded by her family. She will be greatly missed.

Her viewing will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 2-6 p.m. at Harmon Funeral Home, 571 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310.
