The family of Nick Burruano, sadly announce his unexpected passing this week at the age of 54.
Nick was a 1985 graduate of North Pocono High School, where he played football and basketball. He went on to attain a bachelor's degree from E. Stroudsburg University and a master's degree from Marywood University. Nick was a huge sports enthusiast, especially Penn State Football. He was an avid reader and a lover of animals, especially his dog Winston (Winnie). He also loved to discuss local and national politics. Nick worked for various agencies in the area, but most recently served as a marketing representative for Serv Pro until his death.
Nick is survived by his father Sal Burruano, S. Abington Twp. & Margate, NJ; his sisters Toni Price and her husband Bob, Bethlehem, PA and Angel Klevenhagen and her husband Paul Leesburg, Virginia. He is also survived by his two nieces, Sarah and Samantha Klevenhagen, Leesburg, Virginia.
Nick was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Vitko Burruano.
The family would like to acknowledge with deep gratitude the support and kindness of all those who helped Nick through his struggles, especially Bill Bradigan and Jimmy Walsh.
A celebration of his life will be held on Monday at 12:00 p.m. at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, 318 E. Drinker St. in Dunmore.
Family and friends may call on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nick’s memory may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond, South Abington Twp., PA 18411.
