Ninette R. Zaccagnino Gordon, 87, died Thursday morning in the Green Ridge Care Center in Scranton where she resided for the past few years. She was the wife of her first husband the late James Zaccagnino whom she had been married to for 35 years and had died in 1989 and the late Lester Gordon Sr. who died in 2012.
Born at home in Dunmore on April 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette Barrese Pinto. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School class of 1951 and had faithfully attended the class reunions until she no longer could.
In her lifetime Nina was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Greenwood Hose Company as well as with Meals on Wheels and she greatly enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, cooking, gardening and trips to the casino. Evey year she would host a 4th of July party for family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Cerynik and her husband Frank of West Lenox, a son Peter Zaccagnino, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, a stepdaughter, Joann Blauer, a stepson Lester Gordon, Jr., three grandchildren, Kelly Marks, James Jones, and Jacob Jones all of Maryland, seven great grandchildren, Alexandra, Mason, Gabriel, James, Vincent, Bella, and Connor, three sisters, Evangeline Trumbower, Vancouver, Christina Arcangelo, Clarks Green, and Carmelina Foy, Clarks Summit and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Maria Jones, a sister Sarah Palermo and an infant sister Christine Pinto, and three brothers Anthony, Cataldo, and Joseph Pinto.
Her family wishes to extend sincere appreciation for the kindness and care provided by the staff at Green Ridge Health Care Center.
The funeral will be Monday at 7 p.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. Friends may call Monday prior to the service from 4-7 p.m. Interment will take place in the Dunmore Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
