Pamela M. Polizzi Obituary

Pamela M. Polizzi, 68, Dunmore, died Sunday afternoon at Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Salvatore Michael and Nicolina “Nell” Totaro Polizzi.  With a childlike spirit and a heart full of kindness, she faced a lifetime of medical challenges with remarkable strength, courage, and unwavering resilience. Despite everything she endured, she remained cheerful, warm-hearted, and full of light—an example of pure love to everyone blessed to know her.

Family meant everything to Pamela. She shared a uniquely close and loving bond with her sisters, who were not only her greatest advocates, but her devoted caregivers and constant source of comfort. Their relationship was one of deep trust, laughter, and unconditional love. Pamela adored her entire family, and they adored her just as deeply in return.

Pamela delighted in simple joys—especially the magic of Christmas. She was Santa’s biggest believer - eagerly waiting for him every Christmas Eve. Her joyful spirit made every holiday season feel more meaningful for those around her.

Pamela’s faith was a profound and steady part of her life. She held a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother, turning to her in prayer every day.  Her faith brought her peace, grounding, and a sense of purpose. It was one of the greatest expressions of her gentle heart.  If she wasn’t lifting you up in prayer, she was lifting your spirit with a heartfelt compliment.

Though her life came with many hardships, Pamela met each one with bravery and a sweetness that never faded. She taught her family the true meaning of resilience, patience, and unconditional love. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will forever shine in the hearts of those who loved her.

Pamela will be remembered for her gentle nature, her infectious smile, the love she gave so freely, and the strength she carried so quietly. Her family finds peace in knowing she is now free from pain and held in a place of comfort and light.

Pamela, in her gentle and extraordinary way, taught us more about love and strength than she ever realized. We cherish these lessons and they will continue to guide us as we carry them forward in her honor.

She is survived by her sisters, Frances Guzy and husband Geoff, her devoted primary caregiver, Donna Loughney and husband Patrick (Nibs) with whom Pamela lived, and Roseanne Siconolfi and husband Michael, all of Dunmore; an aunt, Frances Siconolfi of Olyphant; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, several cousins, and her dogs Renly and Blue, with whom she had a special bond.

Pam’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to Pam’s personal CNA, Eva Moore, who became like family to not only Pam, but to everyone in her family as well.  They would also like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Ferdinand J. Manahan, Dr. Kevin Olsen, Dr. David Phang, Dr. Jan Golden, the late Dr. Alessandro Smeraldi, Davita Dialysis, Dunmore, all of the nurses from Interim Home Health, and the staff of Geisinger-CMC for the gentle care shown to Pam. Also, heartfelt appreciation to her longtime friend Carol Burti--we are deeply grateful for the lifetime of camaraderie and love you shared with her.

The funeral will be Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore.  Interment to follow in Dunmore Cemetery.
