Patricia "Pat" Keeler Obituary

Patricia Keeler, 69, of Scranton, passed away peacefully Wednesday surrounded by her loved ones at Hospice of the Sacred Heart after an absolutely courageous battle against ovarian cancer.
Born January 27, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Marjorie Draper Mursch. She graduated from Riverside High School in 1972 and recently celebrated her 43rd wedding anniversary with her husband, Kenneth Keeler, on October 30th.

She worked for many years at RCA and Hallmark before becoming a stay-at-home mom to her daughters. Pat’s true calling was painting. She never missed a chance to create something beautiful and loved to display her work every year at the Scranton Prep Galleria and Cadden’s Florist. She looks forward to reuniting with her dear friend, Donna Tucker, to continue their painting journey together.

Pat thrived in the kitchen, surpassed all expectations when it came to making Christmas magical and never missed a chance to brag about her family. She loved sitting on her porch with her forever friend, Cheryl Kearney, counted down the days each year for her group vacation to Virginia Beach with her cherished friends, and went straight for the fries during every family trip to Knoebels. We thought nothing in this world could surpass Pat as a mother, but then she became a Nana and she flourished further than we ever could have imagined and truly cherished that title.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her adoring daughters, Allison and husband, Steve Steransky of Dallas and Lindsay and wife Calista Walker of Maryland; her three grandchildren, Sisilia, Ethan and Nora Steransky; her sisters, Penni and husband Frank Kinsella and Barbara and husband George Fedor; her sisters-in-law, Linda and husband Jack Berens and Patricia and husband John McKelvey; nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Her family would like to thank Dr. Georges Chamoun, Kelly Worsnick, N.P., Dr. Jennifer Swenski, the staff at the Infusion Center at Moses Taylor Hospital, and all the wonderful staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their kindness and compassionate care.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday between 5:00 and 7:00 pm at Savino Traditional Funeral & Cremation Care, 157 South Main Avenue, Scranton, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, 1605 Oram Street, Scranton, PA.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 30 E.D. Preate Drive, Suite 108, Moosic, PA.
