Paul M. Bowen, 68, of Scranton, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Mary Massino.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Rupert and Arlene Jones Bowen and a member of St. Lucy’s Church in West Scranton. Prior to retirement, he was an auditor for the State Worker’s Insurance Fund.
Paul was a 1975 graduate of West Scranton High School where he received his letterman for scoring a 92-yard touchdown against Old Forge High School. He was an avid New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan. Paul never had a bad word to say about anyone and was loved by everyone he met. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Also surviving are a son, Dustin and wife, Elizabeth, and grandsons, David Paul, Benjamin and Ronan, all of Scranton; a son, Jason, Exeter; a sister, Judy Marmo and husband, Robert, Old Forge; a brother, Carl and wife, Paula, Madison Twp; sister-in-law and caregiver, Marge Kupinsky, Scranton; sister-in-law, Shirley Massino, Philadelphia; brother-in-law and best friend, Bill Kupinsky, Scranton; brother-in-law, Joseph Spear and wife, Karen, Old Forge; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Spear.
The funeral will be Friday from St. Lucy’s Church, 949 Scranton St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church on Friday morning. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Dr. #7, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.
