Peter D. Arvonio, Jr., 65, of Mayfield, passed away Thursday morning at home. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, the former Cathleen Bianchi Arvonio.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Peter D., Sr. and Joan Roskoski Arvonio and was a graduate of West Scranton High School’s Class of 1978. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and was a Certified Public Accountant and partner at Robert Rossi and Co. for 44 years.
Peter was a member and treasurer of the Victor Alfieri Society and past president of the Columbus Day Association. He was also a member of the AICPA and the PICPA. Peter loved visiting his grandchildren and spending time with them. He was a kind, generous, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be so greatly missed and always loved so deeply. He will be irreplaceable.
Also surviving are sons, Peter Arvonio and wife Miranda, Clifford Twp., Andrew Arvonio and wife Kelsey, Greenfield Twp. Grandchildren, Elliana and Elizabeth. A brother, Robert Arvonio and wife Susan, Nicholson. Mother-in-law, Madelyn Bianchi, Blakely. Bother-in-law, James Bianchi, Scranton. Sister-in-law, Paulette Bianchi, MD. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He will also be so missed by his beloved “little girl” dog, Sunnie.
The funeral will be Monday from the Savino Traditional Funerals and Cremation Care, 157 S. Main Ave., Scranton with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Parish, 624 Madison Ave. in Jermyn.
Interment, Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday evening from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
