Raymond Berry, Jr., 69, Jefferson Twp., died Wednesday at home from natural causes.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Raymond Sr. and Julia Huda Berry, he was a graduate of Dunmore High School, a U.S. Navy veteran, and was a member of St. Peter’s Cathedral in Scranton where he also served as usher. He was an avid pool player and belonged to the Scranton, Mid Valley, and Endless Mountain Pool Leagues.
Surviving are his siblings, Joan Kutchmanich and husband Nicholas, Jessup; Marion Carroll and husband Joseph, Exeter; Michael Berry and wife Mary Ellen, Wyoming, PA; Anne Trivellin, Dunmore; and John Berry and wife Theresa, Dunmore; niece Christine, and nephews Joseph, Johnny, and R.J.; great-nephews Alex, Joey, and Charlie; and his two cats.
He was also preceded in death by his longtime companion, Nancy.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Raymond’s good friend and neighbor, Louis Buyer, who was always a help to their brother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter’s Cathedral, Wyoming Ave., Scranton. All those attending are asked to comply with current safety regulations in wearing a mask and social distancing.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Dunmore.
