Raymond J. Tropeano

Raymond Tropeano, 80, of Dunmore, formerly of Astoria, Queens, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 18th. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Hili Tropeano. The couple recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Born August 13th, 1943, in, Astoria, New York. He was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Tropeano. A Veteran of the Navy, Raymond served aboard the Intrepid and the Enterprise. Prior to retirement, Raymond worked at Con Edison for 30 years. After relocating to Pennsylvania, Raymond enjoyed being a part of the Unico Chapter and was a member of the Friends of the Forgotten. He was also a member of the Victor Alferi Club and enjoyed golfing in his Thursday league.

In addition to his wife, Raymond is survived by his children Raymond (Susan), Barbara (Richard), Mary (Kevin), and Joseph (Gabrielle). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren Michelle (Stephen), Jacalyn, Michael (Danielle), Kristen, Alexis, Gaetana (Brennan), Amaya, Sophia, Richard, Nevaeh, and Logan, as well as 6 great grandchildren Aaron, Salvatore, Carter, Malcolm, Elena and Kai; two brothers Ronald (Mona), and Ernest, several nieces and nephews. Raymond was preceded in death by his stepmother Carmella, aunts, and uncles.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, May 25th from 12 noon until 3pm at the funeral home with representatives from the United States Navy performing an honors service at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Raymond’s memory to a Veteran Association of your choice, or St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
