Richard H. Loessy, 69, of Dunmore, passed away Sunday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.
Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Harold and Lois Jones Loessy and was a member of the Dunmore Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and financial secretary. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School class of 1969 and Lackawanna College, and also attended Marywood College. He was retired from the Clark Summit State Hospital as its chief financial officer. He spent many years preparing taxes for his loyal clients. He truly valued time spent with them.
He was a volunteer firefighter in Dunmore, serving as treasurer and past president of the former Eclipse Hose Company. He was also a member of the Volunteer Firemen's Relief Association. He enjoyed traveling and going out to dinner with his family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Jake. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving are a daughter, Karen Brown and her husband, Michael, and their son, Jake, Scranton; a twin brother, Alan R. Loessy, Chambersburg; and his companion of many years Theresa Rusnak, Duryea.
A service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service. All those attending are kindly and respectfully asked to socially distance without direct contact while giving condolences, and are required to wear a mask immediately upon entering the funeral home.
