Richard J. Williams, 76, of East Mountain, passed away on Thursday evening at Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton. He is survived by his wife, the former Marianne Kloss.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Harry and Eleanor Williams and was a graduate of Central High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in History from Mansfield University. Prior to retirement he owned Scranton Photo and worked in the Landline Division at Verizon.
Richard enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife. He was a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Also surviving is a daughter Samantha Williams, Boston. Sons, Ryan Williams and wife Kelsey, Farmingham, MA., Alexander Williams, Boston and Justin Owens, Olyphant. Brothers, Walter Williams and wife Beverly, Taylor, Tucker Williams and wife Barbara, Lancaster.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Williams and brothers, Robert and Ronald Williams.
Grandchildren, Mackenzie and Owen Williams. Nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Savino Traditional Funerals and Cremation Care, 157 S. Main Ave. Scranton with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at SS Peter and Paul Church, 1309 W. Locust St. Scranton, Pa 18504.
Interment, SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Taylor
Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
