Rita A. Pumilia Lissefeld, 81, of Scranton, died Monday, Sept. 30th at Oak Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Taylor.
Born Sept. 6, 1943 in Scranton, daughter of the late James J. and Rita DiPalma Pumilia, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School.
Rita was a wonderful cook who loved having family dinners at every holiday, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving, where she would make all kinds of cookies and anything pasta related. She loved to travel, her favorite being to Gettysburg where she said she always felt at home.
In her professional life, she had a long career as the coat buyer for the Globe Store, then as the counter manager for Chanel at Macy’s until she got to enjoy her retirement. She also loved her two cats more than anything—Jacks and Spatz.
Surviving is a son, Derek Wilcox and wife Joyce, Harrisburg; grandson J.D. Wilcox, Scranton; her sisters Mary Ross and husband Chris, Olyphant, and Patti Forbes, Clifford Twp.; her partner Eugene “Mac” McAndrew, Covington Twp.; several nieces and nephews.
Rita was also preceded in death by her son, David Wilcox.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, Oct. 10th from 6-8 p.m. at Savino Traditional Funerals and Cremation Care, 157 S. Main Ave., West Scranton with words of remembrance to follow.
