Rita G. (Kaminski) Fiore

Rita G. Fiore, age 93, passed away peacefully on August 8th, 2023 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She was born May 20, 1930 in Scranton. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Wasko Kaminski.  She was the widow of the late Peter F. Fiore who passed away on May 21, 1995.

She lived in Scranton most of her life until 2021 when she moved to Cherry Hill, NJ to live with her daughter. She was a graduate of West Scranton High School. She was previously employed at Garlet Electronics and then a homemaker for many years. She was also a volunteer for many years at St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel school and a member of SS Anthony & Rocco Parish in Dunmore.

Rita truly loved life to the fullest through simple pleasures, playing bingo, going to the casino, playing cards and crossword puzzles, playing with the dogs as well as spending time with her family.  Rita was an incredibly positive person and was loved by everyone she met.

Surviving is a daughter, Lisa M. Chernack and husband Scott, Cherry Hill, NJ, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 11:00am at St. Rocco Church, Kurtz St. in the Bunker Hill section of Dunmore.

Family and friends are invited from 9:30am-10:30am on Friday morning at the funeral home.

Interment, Holy Family Cemetery in Throop.
