Robert John Demko

Robert John Demko, 85, of Dunmore, died Thursday at Green Ridge Health Care Center. He and his wife, the former Carmella Ann LoRusso, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary June 2, 2020.

Born in Scranton, son of the late John and Lisette Lugert Demko, Robert was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore. Before retirement, he was employed at Fran Tomalis & Son, Pittston. Robert enjoyed going to the casinos and dining out with his wife.

He is also survived by his sister, Frances D. Menin, Philadelphia; a sister-in-law, Carol LoRusso, Scranton; a nephew, Michael LoRusso and fiancée, Janeen Holmes, and her sons, Colin and Shane Holmes; nieces, Michele LoRusso Murazzi and husband, John Murazzi Jr.; and Debra White and husband, Jack; grandnieces and grandnephews, Ashley LoRusso Torbeck and husband, Kevin Torbeck; Peter LoRusso, and Ava and Angelo Murazzi.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sr. Celeste Demko, S.C.C.; a brother-in-law, Thomas P. LoRusso Sr.; and a nephew, Thomas P. LoRusso Jr.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 208 Smith St., Dunmore. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, Dunmore.

Family and friends may call Saturday from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home. All those attending the visitation and Mass are asked to follow CDC protocols.
