Robert J. Dougherty Sr, of Dunmore, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26.
Born on November 15, 1944, in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Anna Dougherty. He graduated from South Catholic High School and attended the University of Scranton.
Bob lived a full life. He proudly served in the Army Reserves and was a devoted member of the Teamsters. He worked hard his entire life, but always made time for what mattered most: his family, his friends, and his daily morning coffee meetups, which he never missed. His quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and loyal friendship left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, the former Jean Moran, and their three sons: Bobby and his wife, Krissy, of Clarks Summit, PA; Brian of Dunmore, PA; and Brent and his wife, Leila, of Los Angeles, CA. Bob was a loving and proud grandfather to Brendan and Luke (children of Bobby), Noah and Eli (children of Brian), and Mia (child of Brent).
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Jack and Tom. Bob cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren and was endlessly devoted to his family.
The funeral will be private at the request of the family. Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart in gratitude for their care and compassion.
