Robert E. Jackson, formerly of 1630 Clay Avenue, Dunmore, died Friday May 7th, at Mountain View Care Center, Scranton, after a long illness.
He was born in Scranton on January 7, 1951 to the late Edward G. and Mary McGoldrick Jackson and suffered his whole life from injuries at his birth.
Robert attended the Dunmore schools and other special programs. He also particularly enjoyed his walks throughout the streets of Dunmore, where he was well known for his outgoing personality.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his uncle, Rev. John J. Jackson, numerous members of the McGoldrick family and his long time caregiver, Joseph McDonough.
Gratitude is extended to the staff at Mountain View Care Center, and especially Jennifer Lillo and Sirivanh Sophabmixay, as well as Dr. Michael Kondash and Michael Lukus, PA, for their many years of compassionate care of Robert.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore . Interment in Cathedral Cemetery.
All those attending the mass are asked to observe pandemic protocols. There is no public viewing.
