Roberta Clemens Obituary

Roberta Clemens 66, of Dunmore Pa. passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Monday August 11th, 2025. Born and raised in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Robert and Mrs. Antoinette Clemens. She was a graduate of Bloomsburg University and spent her entire career with Harper Collins Publishers as Manager of International and Special Markets Customer Service. She retired after 39 years of proud service.

There is no way to adequately describe Roberta. Her selflessness was not an effort: It was simply who she was and it served her well. She had a rare, beautiful heart and evoked a sense of calm and humble perspective that bettered everyone around her. She was the world’s greatest diplomat and brought together the most diverse family and friends, creating a beautifully imperfect Team Roberta. She gave every single day with no thought of receiving anything in return and was adored by absolutely everyone whose lives she touched.

Roberta was one of 5 sisters but she was best friends with each. She was the quiet strength and the glue that kept us together. She was in charge of all the holidays, special events and anything deemed fun. She was playfully known as Julie McCoy because she was the “Cruise Director” of the family. She leaves a legacy of traditions and connection that will live on for generations. Her absence leaves us asea, but we will do our best to make her proud and keep her memory alive.

Robertas nieces and nephews were her pride and joy. She was the one and only Aunt Ro! Famous for her spontaneous adventures, silly jokes, scavenger hunts and pepperoni stromboli, she spoiled them endlessly. She loved them with all her heart and fostered a unique and special bond with each one. When she talked about them, you couldn’t miss the impact she had on them and the never-ending pride she felt. She was always available to encourage them and support them in good and bad. They perhaps will miss her most.

Some people are lucky to have one or two close friends. Roberta had dozens. Her childhood, high school, college and work friends were an integral part of her everyday life until the very end. It was extraordinary. She was the kind of person who made friends wherever she went—and kept them for life.

Finally, she was the perfect partner for her Fiancé Dale. They were the best of friends and shared endless laughs. She loved and cared for his family as if it were her own. Their mutual love for music drew them together. They could sing a song and name that tune with the best of them. Performing together in their band, Dales Jukebox were some of their happiest times.

Though we are heartbroken, we are so grateful for the gift that was Roberta. Our hope is that she’s hanging out on the beach somewhere watching over us like she always did. She lived her life to the fullest. She lived a life of kindness. She did it all right with no regrets. Roberta was the best of us. It’s as simple as that.

Roberta is survived by her sisters Lori Fitzgibbons (Barry), Paula Rishar (Robert), Carol Verna and Pamela Doyle; Fiancé Dale Ambosie; Beloved nieces and nephews Jessica, Jason (Casey), Robert, Laura (Edson), Andrew and Matthew; Eight great nieces and nephews; The Dempseys, her second family; The Harper Crew and the whole Church Street Gang. (You know who you are.)
