Ronald C. Sleboda, 79, of Dunmore, passed away Sunday evening at Allied Services Hospice Unit in Scranton. His wife, the former Irene B. Pavuk, passed away July 7, 2020. The couple were married for 50 years.
Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Pauline Sleboda and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Dunmore. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and the Act 120 Municipal Police Academy. Prior to retirement, he was a police officer serving and protecting the Borough of Dunmore for over 30 years ending his career as lieutenant.
Ronnie was an avid Washington Redskins fan and was a collector of all sorts of memorabilia. He enjoyed the outdoors, feeding birds and taking his daily trips to Price Chopper. He was a loyal and loving husband to his wife and will sadly be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are sisters-in-law, Susan Matticks and husband, Edward, Dunmore; and Joan Novak, Virginia; brother-in-law, Mike Pavuk and wife, Pam, Nazareth; numerous, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment, St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
