He was also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He was employed as a manager by International Correspondence Schools for over 30 years until his retirement.
He grew up in the Greenridge section of Scranton and was the youngest of six children. He was raised in a loving Italian family who would often dote on him as the “baby” of the family. He had a love of reading and learning and would spend countless hours immersed in the latest novel. He was a passionate enthusiast of World War II and loved to share his vast knowledge on the subject. He was a great teacher to all who knew him.
Another one of his favorite pastimes was baseball. He had a great love for the game. He was a lifelong New York Yankees fan who could always be seen wearing his signature NY Yankees cap and jacket….and a smile. He also loved and enjoyed the music of his favorite musician, Frank Sinatra .
He was a warm, gentle man with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved a good joke and knew that laughter and kindness were two of life’s greatest necessities.
He will forever be remembered as being an extremely loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was always right there throughout all of the great times and the challenging times. He was a selfless man of integrity with a kind heart whose love was unconditional.
