Rose Ann Nardozzi

Rose Ann Nardozzi, 92, of Dunmore, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2023.  She was the widow of Carmen Nardozzi, Sr., her high school sweetheart, who passed away in 2001.

Born in Dunmore in 1930, she was the daughter of Paul Gilroy and Josephine Trotta Gilroy. She was a 1948 graduate of Dunmore High School.  Prior to her retirement, Rose Ann was the credit manager for Scranton Talk. She then went on to be account manager for Emery Air Freight until her retirement in 1988.

Rose was known for her kindness and hospitality to all who knew her. She could always be seen gardening and taking care of her lawn.

She is survived by her three children, Paul Nardozzi of Dunmore, Stella Nardozzi of Dalton, and Carmen Nardozzi, Jr. of Exeter. 

Also surviving are grandchildren, Shannon Valvano, Raquel Valvano, Rocco Valvano, Christopher Nardozzi, Michele Nardozzi, Nicole Nardozzi Cosimo, and Rachel Nardozzi, and seven great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a sister, Katherine Pachuk, of Dunmore, and several nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Rose was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Gilroy, a sister, Margaret Green, and sister, Mary Dean.

The family would like to thank Traditional Hospice, Dunmore, for all their care and compassion given to our mother.  Also thanks to Kathy Minner, Lily Gabella, and Denise Miehl, for their assistance in our time of need.

The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore.  Interment to follow in Dunmore Cemetery.

Family and friends may pay their respects Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
